I went to Germany and Austria for vacation in 1985. I remember my surprise at seeing two uniformed security walking through Frankfurt Airport carrying submachine guns.

I agree with Chris--it isn't about the people who are legally carrying concealed weapons that we need to worry about. The criminals will carry whether legal or not. Andy--one of the best ways to keep everyone safe is if people who do carry guns (concealed or not) have adequate training: gun safety courses are a start.

Hi Brigid,

I'm not aware of a site dedicated to that specific purpose, but http://tel.local.ch/en is a good place to start if you know a name and city and/or canton (which is the Swiss equivalent to a state). I have a K31 that was carried by a guy from Canton Glarus, but I don't think he's alive anymore. I would have loved to have written him a letter. Anyway, if I could be of any assistance here in Switzerland, send me an email and I'll be glad to help out however I can.

As for the Egypt thing, my dad has already coordinated all the various sightseeing -- trip-planning is one of his hobbies and he's really good at it, so I'm just along for the ride.

I agree with David on the Valleys of the Kings and Queens.

Question for you since you are in Switzerland. I've got a very old but immaculate Swiss K-31 and under the gun plate, Tam and I found a tag with the name of the original soldier that owned it. She said she thought there was a website where one could trace these original owners. Have you ever heard of that?

In Egypt, Cairo and Luxor are primary destinations. Some sights in Alexandria but not significant. Abu Simbel is a 3 hour taxi ride from Aswan, or you can fly in, impressive but a long way to go for one thing. Valleys of the Kings and Queens is good = Tut's tomb. The Cairo Museum is huge but interesting. December is a good month to go, it's a lot like AZ. Don't know how the current politics will affect tourists now, my info is 20 year old.

Don't use safe city they are very unprofessional I hired them for 250.00 to move a safe that I actually bought from them. Jessy the owner said he would pick it up at 9am, so at 10am when he still had not arrived I called him he said was running late and would be there by 12 noon (well now my days shot) so I call in to work and take the day off. At 1230 I call him again due to a no show he said was still running late no apology given just will be there between 3 and 5 well at 545 I call the jackass again and get no answer and never got a call back after that. The guy has the personalty of a tree stump and is just a little more worthless.

I like your article AR, but I have to say,
any company (excuses don't cut it) that can't
pay some college kid to get their website up
and running just tells me it's a hobby, not a
business.

My emails keep bouncing back (the
address does not work), there is no shipping cost chart,
which means you have to make a call before placing
an order, and after reading what a couple of these
folks had to say, I'm not sure I would even get it.

It is also troubling to read that the prices they
charge do not match the website prices. Totally inexcusable.
I'm a fair guy, and would like 2K of that M2 ball .308,
but making customers jump through hoops? I don't think so.
